Quick answer

Grant recommends having roughly two to three years of address history ready. Month and year are usually enough for ordinary preparation; the renter does not normally need perfect day-level move-in and move-out dates. Student housing, dorms, fraternity or sorority houses, roommate situations, and living with parents are all normal for recent graduates and should be listed accurately. If the renter lived somewhere without being personally named on the lease, list the actual address and explain the arrangement if the application provides a place to do so. The offer letter generally matters more than having an impressive rental résumé.
